## Location

The Ivens, with the Tagus framed in its windows and the hubbub of **Chiado** just a few paces away, stands in the **centre of Lisbon**. The hotel is surrounded by the best shops, restaurants, bars, galleries and bookshops in this cosmopolitan neighbourhood.

#### Two streets, two explorers

The Ivens lies at the point where two streets cross named after two men who crossed the world: Roberto Ivens and Hermenegildo Capelo. They left Lisbon on several occasions to survey the great Zaire and Zambezi lakes, to discover the hinterland of southern Africa and to reach Mozambique and the Lands of the Lakes.

*THEY ARE ON A QUEST FOR DISCOVERY, WHICH THEY SHARE THROUGHOUT THE FLEETING MOMENTS. THERE ARE NO FRONTIERS FOR THE KINDRED SPIRITS*
